Helga and I are very grateful that I was assigned to C 3/71. We meet in 1965 and were married 3 Sept, 1966 50 years ago. Some said that it would not last a year but I guess they were wrong. We have survived 50 years with our 2 very successful sons and our 6 beautiful grandchildren. I know i,m bragging but it is what it is. Thanks C 3/71.

I served at Gerszewski in 77 and 78.

Was talking to my neighbor. He said his dad also served in Karlsruhe around 67 and was in a missile battalion.

I thought D Battery, 3rd Missile Battalion, 71st ADA was at the zoo into the late 50s or early 60s, but had relo'd by the mid to late 60s...

Anyone know a soldier named O'Day that served in the Karlsruhe area in the mid to late 60s ?

I need your support and help!
In the history of Kleingartach there is a problematic topic: The closing of the site in 1969.
Known date is the official closing in July 1969; but a soldier tells me that he came in April 1969 to C 3/71 Hardheim, and nobody there knows something about Kleingartach.
I guess that Kleingartach was really closed in March/April 1969, together with 1/67 sites.
Two notices: Knows anybody the effective deactivation date or the time frame; and the reason(s) why, and especially Kleingartach, was closed?
Who can provide records or further helpful informations, references, tips and so on regarding my first notice?

Thank you very much for your effort!

Thomas Schulz
