Comments: I was assigned to C/3/71 from January 1979 to November 1981. I served as the Launcher Platoon Leader under Captain Larry Manning, The Fire Control Platoon Leader under CPT Jeffrey Knapp and the Executive Officer under CPT David Inglee (Sorry can't spell). This is a great website and it has brought back some great memories. If anyone out there remembers me and you want to get in touch. My email is listed. Thanks to all who created this site.

Comments: I was just walking down memory lane of the time I was stationed at Hardheim, Germany. I was Btry C 3 battalion 71st ADA. I want to thank and salute American soldiers for their service in Germany, and around the world.
Comments: I was the XO at C 1/67 in Hardheim from 1966-67 before I was assigned to 32nd AADCOM IG Team, headed by LTCOL Jesse Lant. I just noted on this site that my battery 1st Sergeant, John L. Tedder was deceased. 1Sgt Tedder had as much impact on my life, both in the military and in my civilian career, as anyone I have ever known. When I reported to the battery, fresh out of ROTC and the Nike School at Fort Bliss, Top "sat my * * * in a chair" in a chair in his office, told me to "shut up and listen to him (and the other NCO's and Warrants)and not to speak out until I knew what the hell I was talking about". Sage advice that I followed to the letter! 1Sgt Tedder taught me more about managing people and how to treat people than any book I ever read and any management training I ever attended anywhere. Top was a "good old boy", chock full of wisdom, hard-earned experience, and just plain old common sense. I loved the man, and I mourn his passing. John Tedder was the kind of man the professional military is and was built around. I just hope that when he got to the Pearly Gates, he didn't tell God to "sit on your * * * on that golden throne and listen to me." Although it's 50/50 that he may just have done that. God Bless you, John Tedder.

Comments: I served with D 3/84, a Pershing Missile Battery from 2/70 to 2/73. Kleingartach was our main CAS (Combat Alert Status) site and I spent my time with my platoon on Pad 1, your alpha section. Pershing was a tactical nuclear ballistic missile, 10000 lb solid fuel and we kept 4 hot rounds on the pads at all times with another 5 rounds assembled. The pictures and storyline are great and I remember many things after seeing the pictures - I can tell you I went swimming in the resevoir (beer was involved).
Thank you for sharing.

Comments: Hello, we are from Germany near Hardheim.
We wrote here in this guestbook ~9months ago. Simone is searching for her father Willi Kitchen. She saw him about 44 years ago when she was about 2 years old. Can somebody help us?
Here are the things we found the last months of Willi Kitchen.
Age: he was born at 30.September.19??, (between 1946 and 1950, rather 1946/47) Middle initial: Albert (Willi or William Albert Kitchen) He is a colored man Stationed in Hardheim: ~1970, Charlie Batterie 3rd Missile Battalion 71 st Artillery State he might have been when he went back: Florida (~43years ago)
I found one man (Joseph Torres) wich was driven from Willie Kitchen to the airprot in Frankfurt as he went home to the USA. He was station with Kitchen from 1969 to 1971. He (Joseph Torres)has seen Willis daughter when she was a baby in Germany. But he has never heard something from Willie Kitchen.
We hope I hear from anyone, please write if you know anything about Willi.
