Comments: Just heard of the web site from Jerry Winnigham. I was at Kleingartich from Oct. '60 till june '63. Originally in motor pool, then taking care of generators, supplying fuel and operating the bulldozer. I worked with Wayne Berlinski, he left and I took over. (He passe away this summer) I'm going to try and be at the reunion this year. I just got the dates today. Look forward to seeing some of you that I knew

Comments: Thnx Dean, for the opportunity to reflect & reminisce. Your shot of us in formation in front of the barracks reminded me of something rotten I did. We were having a rifle inspection there once. As I recall, the deal was if the rifle could hit the ground before the inspector could grab it, a pass would be rewarded. It never happened of which I was aware. I figured no one could react that fast. So I decided to pull a mean trick. A young Lieutenant [wish I could remember his name so I could apologize] was doing the inspecting. When it came my turn I tensed every muscle I had & gripped the M-1 hard. When the Lieutenant's hand hit the M-1, the gun didn't budge & the Lieutenant's pain became obvious. His only comment was, "Crowl, did you have to do that?"

Comments: I was stationed at "C" battery from 6/65 to 12/67. Would like to hear from anyone regarding what happened to the site after I rotated. I have just returned from Germany and attempted to locate the old site but could only find the general area as it has been reclaimed back to farmland. Even if you don't know what happened I would really like to hear from you.
Comments: I was in the IFC area from 1959 to 1961. I lived off base for about 11 months while my wife was there. We lived in Brackenheim. I was at the 2008 reunion. Will see you all at the 2010 reunion.
Comments: Nice job on the web site! I was stationed at 3/71st Bravo Btry, 74-76. I really cherish my memories of that time in Germany. The countryside was beautiful, the people were great, and I made some good Army friends and had some wonderful times.

Comments: Don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but the "final" movement of Charlie Btry to Hardheim was due to the restructuring of the 94th ADA Group in the mid to late 60s. 94th Gp went from 6 battalions to four. All kinds of "moves" were really just re-naming units. I served in the BOC and lived at Bravo Btry most of the time from Oct 62 until Dec 66. Later I came back to 3/71 and served in Delta Brty, Bravo Btry and HQ Btry between June 72 and Feb 78. Most of the time I was at Bravo Btry as IFC Maintenance Warrant. I eventually retired from my last duty at McGregor Range control and then taught Nike Maintenance to NATO students at Ft. Bliss.

Comments: Great Work on setting up the Web-site for Charlie Battery 3rd Missle Battalion, 71st Artillery. I wasn't part of the line Batteries, A, B, C, or D but was assigned to HHB/3rd Msl/71st Arty with duty at the (BOC) Battalion Operation Center, colocated with Bravo Battery at GrossSacksenheim. I was assigned their from 1959 to 1961. I have lots of memories of Germany and the great soldiers I served with in the US Army Air Defense Command. It was a pleasure reviewing all the material you have posted...if I can be of any help, please don't hesitate to ask. Please authenticate Papa Hotel, XX That's a Roger!
