THANKS FOR THIS WEB SITE.WE HAVE A LOT OF PICTURES AND HISTORY OF THE 3RD BN 71ST ADA,AND TO HAVE AN ACCOUNT OF CHARLIE BATTERY FOR THE PERIOD 1959-1961 IS ESPECIALLY EXCITING. IT REQUIRED A LOT OF WORK AND COMPUTER SKILLS ON YOUR PART TO PUT ALL THIS TOGETHER. IT'S AMAZING THAT AFTER FIFTY YEARS YOU HAVE BROUGHT THIS INTERESTING SITE TO THE INTERNET AND MADE IT AVAILABLE TO THE GUYS WHO SERVED DURING THAT TIME.
FIFTY YEARS TAKES US BACK TO THE TIME WHEN WE WERE YOUNG WITH HIGH ENERGY AND SOMETIMES DO SOMETHING A LITTLE CRAZY.
I REMEMBER A FUNNY THING THAT HAPPENED TO CHARLIE BURGESS AND GERALD TYNE. THEY WENT TOGETHER AND BOUGHT AN OLD GERMAN CAR. ONE DAY THEY WITH TO GERMAN GUYS WERE DRIVING THROUGH THE COUNTRY AND WERE DRIVING TO FAST FOR ROAD CONDITIONS RAN UP ON A CURVE AND COULDN'T MAKE THE TURN,RAN OFF THE ROAD HIT AN APPLE TREE AND KNOCKED THE APPLES OUT OF THE TREE. THE OLD GERMAN FARMER SUED BURGESS FOR THAT CROP OF APPLES.
WE HAD A GREAT TIME AT THE '08 REUNION IN BRANSON SWAPPING STORIES. SOME OF THE GUYS TOLD SOME TALL ONES.
I WILL VISIT YOUR SITE OFTEN HOPING TO FIND A NOTE FROM SOME OF THE GUYS.

Thank you Dean for this great site this all started 50 rears ago and here we are comming together again.
To bad we waited so long i am sure a lot of our buddies that are no longer with us would just love what is going on now.
Lets do this 2010 reunion for them.

Awsome site,was with Charlie from 1959 thru 1962. Motor Pool Just got a call from Fitzpatrick this am about the site love it. Hope to see some of you who hav'nt made the reunion in Branson in Nov. 2 - 5 This year will be my 3rd we have a great time. Again i say Awsome site...

I served in "C" Battery in 1959-60. I have a lot of fond memories of Germany.
I really like the web site. Thanks for doing it. It's a great way to stay in touch.

Nice site you did a great job. When I was there in 59 and 60 the supply room was on the first floor , I was the supply clerk. The PX was on the second floor and the tailor was on the third floor. A bunch of us get together at a 3rd Msl 71st Arty reunion in Branson Mo every 2 years. Next one is in Nov 2010, last one we had over 15 guys just from C Battery from the years 59-61. Again nice job.
