Nothing like an evening with some lovely ladies and a nice cool glass of Moninger Bier.

GI's from left to right: Allen Marohl, Vern Jasmund, Fred Van Zandt, and Moody Barrentine. The lady on the left seems quite enamored with her escort.

Prosit...!

After arriving at Gerszewski Barracks and on my first night out in Germany (Karlsruhe), Monginger Bier was the first brand I tasted, and all the time I was there I think it was one of the best...!

Man, is this some party. This Gasthaus just outside of Gerszewski Barracks. Section Chief Sgt. Walter L. Stone is taking his Section out for a party. I it seems to be the same place as in the photo above, as some of the same waitresses are in both photos.

This is quite a crowd, and everyone seems to be having a good time. That is, except for the man wearing an apron front left, who seems to be looking daggers at someone. Ken said the woman on far right with the beautiful smile is his wife, and the girls hugging Sgt. Stone are his daughters. The man is definitely not pleased...!

Ken Nendick furnished the photo, and he has helped identify most of the GI's. I have provided a photo that ID's those who we know, so “Click Here” to view that image. Sgt. Stone, who later became the Charlie Section chief, Ken Nendick, Johnnie Dupre, and Fredric Pankey were sent to Charlie Battery Kleingartach, some went to other batteries in the Battalion, and Sandoval even ended up in Turkey.

But it looks like everyone is having a good time, even Nendick is smiling...! This is great camaraderie...!
